PM Shehbaz appeals for cooperation in the battle against terrorism at the apex committee meeting

On Friday, Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, called for a united front against terrorism.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasised the importance of unity while lamenting the criticism opposition parties have levelled at the federal government in the wake of terrorism. The meeting of the Apex Committee was held in Peshawar after a terrorist assault there claimed the lives of 101 people.

Shehbaz Sharif declared compensation amounts for the victims of the Peshawar bomb of two million rupees apiece and five hundred thousand rupees each.

The prime minister remarked, “We are come to send our condolences to the families of the Peshawar bomb victims. This terrorist attack was successful in getting past the security checkpoint and into the mosque. We shouldn’t be reluctant to accept the truth.

Additionally, he denounced the unwarranted comments on social media. But he responded to the “conspiracy theories” that surfaced after the attack. It will be investigated whether the event occurred because of security flaws, he added.

He asserted that he was certain Pakistan’s entire population was considering how the threat would be dealt with in the future.

The meeting is attended by Federal Ministers, Chief Ministers of the four provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan, the Prime Minister of AJK, and the heads of all the services, including the Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and the Director General of the ISI, Lt. Gen. Nadeem Anjurm.
