PM calls Erdogan to express his sympathies on the earthquake damage

On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to express his sympathies over the devastation brought on by the earthquake that rattled Syria and Turkey and cost more than 1,300 people.

The prime minister sympathised with the grieving families and expressed his sincere sorrow over the loss of life and property. “The people of Pakistan stand by their comrades in Turkey and its citizens. In order to assist Turkey’s government and people in coping with the damage caused by the earthquake, Pakistan will offer all of its assistance.

He added that natural disasters and climate change recognise no boundaries, location, or ethnicity, saying that the negative effects of climate change were getting worse. The prime minister made supplication to Allah Ta’ala for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace, for the bereaved families to have patience, and for the injured to heal quickly.

President Erdogan then expressed his gratitude to the prime minister for his support and condolences. He continued by saying that he respected the prime minister’s and the Pakistani people’s sentiments.
