Imran criticises the administration for denying health care cards

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), condemned the barring of Sehat cards (health insurance cards) by the current administration on Monday.

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), criticised the barring of Sehat cards (health insurance cards) by the current administration on Monday and claimed that it demonstrated the PML-N and PPP’s fascist mentality (PPP).

He tweeted that having a health card helped the creation of private healthcare facilities in rural areas and was a blessing for individuals who were struggling with inflation. The well-known international health magazine Lancet also praised the project, he continued.

The PTI government has introduced the Sehat Card Program, and Punjab received Rs 400 billion for the initiative. The incumbent government, however, forced four provinces to hand over Rs800 billion to the federal government as a cash surplus this year in order to contain the fiscal deficit and primary balance within budgeted targets in an effort to comply with the preconditions imposed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
