The prime minister urged the administration to prioritise producing electricity using solar and wind energy during a meeting on renewable energy. He asserted that low-cost, ecologically beneficial electricity would be produced through renewable energy sources.
Ministers Ishaq Dar, Khurram Dastgir, and Ahsan Iqbal as well as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Jehanzeb Khan and Advisor Ahad Cheema were present at the meeting.
The prime minister gave an update on the projects that were given priority and said that work on the 10,000 megawatt solar power projects was moving swiftly. He asked pertinent organisations to create an immediate plan for harnessing the available solar and wind resources in the interim.
Participants in the meeting received updates on the nation’s present wind and solar energy resources, the progress of active projects, and the standing of projects that have been delayed.
The gathering was informed that 6,000 megawatt solar and wind power projects were also being examined to create cheap, environmentally friendly electricity in addition to the 10,000 megawatt renewal energy projects already under consideration.
