Yamaha, one of Pakistan’s leading bike manufacturers, has announced its first price increase for 2023. The company has increased the prices of its bikes, and as usual, there is no official reason provided for the hike. However, the increase may be due to the recent implementation of the 18% General Sales Tax, which replaces the previous 17% GST.
The price hike affects the following Yamaha bikes in Pakistan:
- Yamaha YB125Z (Red/Black) now costs Rs. 308,500, up by Rs. 3,000 from its previous price of Rs. 305,500.
- Yamaha YB125Z-DX (Red/Blue/Black) now costs Rs. 330,500, a Rs. 3,500 increase from its previous price of Rs. 327,000.
- Yamaha YBR 125 (Red/Blue/Black) now costs Rs. 339,500, up by Rs. 3,500 from its previous price of Rs. 336,000.
- Yamaha YBR125G (Red/Black) now costs Rs. 353,000, an increase of Rs. 3,500 from its previous price of Rs. 349,500.
- Yamaha YBR125G (Matt Dark Gray) now costs Rs. 356,000, up by Rs. 3,500 from its previous price of Rs. 352,500.
Yamaha Pakistan imports components like engines, so the dollar’s value has a direct impact on the cost of the bikes. Due to similar factors, the company increased the price of bikes seven times the previous year.
