Why does WAPDA ban smartphones?

WAPDA has decided to ban smart phones for their employees, they took this decision just to make their security system stronger.

They said that we could not take any risk by allowing mobile phones, because there are some potential issues and some sensitive information that could be leaked through smartphones.

To avoid this they took decision to ban smart phones during work and for their employs, just to make their sensitive information safeguard.

On 14th of April it was decided by secretary of the state power that high ranked officers of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) have permission to take their mobile phone during work.

But the employs of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) have been told to follow their rules by not taking smart phones with them during work.

They said that if any one of our employees do not follow our rules and take his smart phone with him during work then according to WAPDA E & D Efficiency and Discipline Rule of 1978 he will be charged.

According to source some employees called it foolish act, however WAPDA decided to apply it for every one and every employee should take care of WAPDA rules.

WAPDA claim that in past many employees took pictures, captured videos and record audios of sensitive and personal information of WAPDA and it is necessary to stop this so that is why they decided to ban smart phones.
