This Week, Rain and Snow are Predicted by PMD

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain/thunderstorms in the country’s western and upper regions, along with possible snowfall on the hills

The newest PMD report predicts that a westerly disturbance will arrive in the nation on February 8. Beginning on February 9 and continuing through February 10, it will move to the upper regions.

Under the influence of this weather system, snowfall is anticipated to occur between February 8 and 10 in Murree, Galliyat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

On February 9 and 10, rain, wind, and thunderstorms are predicted to fall in Islamabad and the upper and central Punjab areas. On February 8 and 9, moderate rain is anticipated in several areas of Balochistan.

The PMD has issued a warning that during the anticipated period, snowfall may result in the closure of roads in Murree, Galliyat, Naran, Kaghan, Swat, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, and Bagh.

Additionally, it has indicated the potential for landslides in the upper KP, GB, AJK, Murree, and Galliyat. Tourists are urged to use caution throughout the anticipated period by the PMD.
