PM Shehbaz Sharif and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres are co-hosting the Geneva conference
PM Shehbaz Sharif will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to details, despite the nation’s ongoing economic difficulties. It is important to note that PM Shehbaz Sharif and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres are co-hosting the Geneva conference. They are urging nations, organizations, and businesses to step up with financial and other support toward a long-term recovery and resilience plan to climate change, which caused the country to experience catastrophic floods last year.
To help Pakistan’s people and government meet the immense challenge of post-flood reconstruction and rehabilitation, the conference brought together governments, leaders from the public and private sectors, and members of civil society.
According to PM Shehbaz Sharif, we must work together to reconstruct the lives and dreams of those affected by the floods. At this crucial time, he claimed, Pakistan needs the long-term solidarity and support of the international community to avoid falling behind or to face the future with renewed hope and aspirations.
The first section of this plan, according to Shehbaz Sharif, reflects priorities for recovery and reconstruction while considering the minimum funding requirement of 16.3 billion dollars, which is proposed to be covered by half of the domestic resources and the other half by friends and allies in the development sector. According to him, he will need eight billion dollars over the next three years to overcome the budget deficit for a minimal recovery.
