Pakistani IT Businesses Awarded Million Dollar Contracts at LEAP 2023:Chairman P@SHA

Pakistani IT companies recently displayed their wide range of talents at the LEAP 2023 conference, according to Muhammad Zohaib Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA)

Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), Muhammad Zohaib Khan, recently informed journalists that Pakistani IT firms displayed a variety of talents during the LEAP 2023 tech exhibition hosted in Saudi Arabia and secured transactions and contracts worth millions of dollars.

According to Khan, this year’s mega-B2B tech & IT trade promotion, networking event has been mandated by P@SHA, the Ministry of IT & Telecom (MoITT), the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). Their joint efforts were successful, he continued, and 150 significant IT businesses with Pakistani roots were represented at LEAP 2023.

He claimed that P@SHA has set its sights on addressing the nation’s two most pressing economic problems, the trade imbalance and the current account deficit (CAD). He claimed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had in principle concurred that the only sector in the nation capable of posting exponential export growth for a protracted period of years after years to come is information technology.

Khan emphasised that hundreds of people visited the Pakistan Pavilion at LEAP 2023, and key Saudi government and chamber officials frequented the space throughout the event. The P@SHA delegation is anticipated to be significantly larger during the yearly event, he continued, thus P@SHA hopes to secure a larger and more prominent place for Pakistan Pavilion at the LEAP 2024.

Another significant milestone was the attendance of Deema Al Yahya, Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), at the P@SHA Connect event, which was co-hosted by P@SHA and Tech Destination Pakistan and held in conjunction with LEAP 2023. 300 eminent members of the IT sector from the GCC nations and around the world in general attended the high-profile event.

Using digital inclusivity, dialogue, and collaborations, he described DCO as a global multilateral organisation that aims to foster shared prosperity and positive interdependencies. Pakistan stands to gain significantly from this important engagement, he added.

The distinguished Riyadh Chamber of Commerce also had a thorough meeting with the P@SHA delegates. According to the P@SHA CEO, the two parties have discussed how to leverage their collaboration in order to pave the way for billions of dollars’ worth of investments, joint ventures, trade, and other contracts in the tech, IT, ITeS, and telecom sectors.
