Over The Harmful Campaign Against Pakistani Actors, FIA Action Is Being Sought

The outrageous claims on Lollywood performers, who were subjected to backlash and immoral trends on social media.

The outrageous claims made by a former army major from Pakistan about several “actresses and models” spurred defamatory campaigns against leading Lollywood performers, who were subjected to backlash and immoral trends on social media.

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb requested the Federal Investigators to begin legal action against those responsible for the “character assassination” of prominent Pakistani female stars on social media as the scandalous episode aroused widespread condemnation.

The PML-N stalwart strongly condemned the campaign against the celebrities in a statement, calling on everyone to protest those who are fostering a culture of defamatory campaigns to damage celebrities’ reputations and foster rudeness.

Minister referred to artists as assets of Pakistan, saying they achieved a position in society through their labour and gained notoriety via competing in numerous competitions. She bemoaned online developments, saying that character assassination efforts are being launched against women who have achieved a high standing in journalism, politics, the arts, or any other sector.

The Minister praised their effort and fight but claimed that certain people were trying to discredit them. She insisted that such obscene advertising wouldn’t prevent women from succeeding, referring to them as a national symbol of bravery and tenacity.

Trolls were described as “mentally retarded people” by the information minister, who claimed that they only cared about the honour of their own families.

Earlier, Pakistani celebs spoke out in support of their sister actresses and vehemently denounced the accusations and doctored images of their female peers.
