In the satellite town of Gujranwala, a 12-year-old boy has been arrested for the murder of his mother. While walking down the street, the boy opened fire on his mother, killing her on the spot, and injuring another woman, believed to be his aunt. A nearby hospital provided treatment to the injured woman.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident after the boy confessed to the crime. Additionally, they are conducting raids in order to arrest the father of the boy.
Last year, a man in Karachi murdered his wife on the grounds that she had an extramarital affair. In possession of the weapon, the man surrendered to the police after shooting his wife in the head. A married woman living in the Garden Headquarters area of Karachi had been murdered by her husband of four years.
According to the perpetrator, his wife had an illicit relationship with another man. Manghopir is the hometown of the murdered woman, while the man’s father is a retired police officer.
In light of these incidents, it is imperative that stronger measures are taken to protect women and prevent such crimes from occurring in the future. In order to bring those responsible to justice, the police are continuing to investigate these cases.
