Local Phones Assembling Going to Shut Down?

What will be the price of mobile phones soon? Is local assembling going to shut down?

Many companies have assembling units in Pakistan. On that reason companies’ smartphone prices are affordable, and most people can buy them. After the recession, many local assembling brands are thinking of shutting down the local assembly of mobile phones in Pakistan.

The reason behind it is the shortage of dollars in the country. Lahore Traders Rights President Sardar Azhar Sultan said that.

“Due to the shortage of dollars, mobile phone companies face difficulties sending capital to their head offices abroad. The business community also faces difficulties in importing mobile phone accessories. The Letters of Credit (LCs) are not being opened. Goods are not coming. How will the businesses run?”

Major phone makers in the country are Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, Infinix, and a few others. However, there are official words from any company’s owner.

If local assembling shut down, there will be a hike in price due to import taxes, i.e., the cost of the iPhone. Currently, the companies are facing problems due to import restrictions.
