LHC Ordered ECP to Conduct Elections in Punjab within 90 Days

Lahore High Court ordered election commission to conduct election of Punjab with in 90 days.

The High Court of Pakistan announced the reserved judgement and directed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce the schedule and conduct the elections in Punjab within 90 days as per the Constitution.

The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) had earlier approached the LHC and claimed that the ECP with the assistance of the PDM conspired to postpone the election in Punjab and in so doing violated Pakistan’s constitution.

Upon petition of PTI, the Lahore High Court heard both of the parties and reserved judgement earlier today. Now the Honourable Lahore High Court announced the reserved judgement and directed the Election Commission to conduct elections in 90 days.
