Pakistan’s Federal Cabinet met on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the recent suicide bombing at a mosque in the Peshawar Police Lines. As a result of the attack, the cabinet adopted a resolution condemning it and committing to eradicating all forms of terrorism and ensuring the safety of the citizens.

Cabinet members stressed the importance of national unity and solidarity, and urged all political forces to put aside their differences and work together in the fight against terrorism. It was strongly condemned by them and their condolences were expressed to the families of the victims.

In addition, the cabinet stressed that those who perpetrate such attacks on places of worship do not align with the teachings of Islam and should not be regarded as human. In order to prevent future attacks, the police force and counterterrorism department should be restructured, quality training should be provided, and weapons and technology should be upgraded.

The Prime Minister thanked the Chinese leaders, President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, for their support and solidarity with Pakistan.

Therefore, the Federal Cabinet of Pakistan is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of its citizens and will not rest until terrorism is eradicated.
