Google’s AI Chatbot, Bard, Ready for Public Testing in UK and Us After Successful Trial

Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Bard has already been tested with 80,000 Google employees and is now ready for the next step toward perfection.

Bard has already been tested with 80,000 Google employees, the chatbot will be tested with the public in the UK and the US, and based on the feedback received, further improvements will be made before it is rolled out to more countries and in other languages.

Pichai acknowledged that there might be some bumps in the road, but he expressed confidence in the public’s ability to surprise them with their feedback. “As more people start to use Bard and test its capabilities, they’ll surprise us,” he said. He also emphasized that user feedback was crucial to improving the product and the underlying technology.

Anyone in UK and US can sign up for the waiting list of Bard to test the abilities of this google backed AI technology. Please visit bard.google.com to do so. It is worth noting that this is a completely separate website from Google’s search engine.

Google’s vice presidents Sissie Hsiao and Eli Collins shared in a recent blog post that they’ve gained valuable insights from testing their chatbot, Bard, but they recognize that gathering feedback from more people is the next crucial step in improving it. While chatbots are an exciting development, but they are imperfect, Hsiao and Collins caution.

Unlike Microsoft, which quickly released its generative AI products to consumers despite reports of issues, Google has taken a more cautious approach in its rollout. ChatGPT, a similar product backed by Microsoft, is used by ChatGPT itself.

When asked how Bard differed from ChatGPT, the Google-powered bot highlighted that it could access and process real-world information through Google Search to ensure its responses were consistent with search results. Additionally, Bard emphasized that it was still in development, while ChatGPT had already been released to the public. This meant that Bard constantly learned and improved, while ChatGPT was unlikely to undergo significant changes.

OpenAI has finally launched the highly anticipated update to its AI technology, which promises to be even safer and more accurate than its predecessor. Dubbed GPT-4, this new model boasts impressive capabilities and is now accessible to the general public through OpenAI’s paid subscription plan called ChatGPT Plus. It’s also available on a version of Microsoft’s Bing search engine that uses AI technology.

Although Microsoft has been quick to embrace generative AI and has seen a recent surge in Bing’s usage, it’s still an underdog compared to Google, which holds a dominant 85 % of the global search engine market.
