Imran Khan’s non-Bailable Arrest Warrant Issued in Judges Threatening Case

In the judge-threatening case, a court in Islamabad on Wednesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Imran Khan, a former prime minister, had petitioned for an exemption from today’s hearing, but civil judge Malik Aman rejected it, as was stated in the verdict.

The PTI leader was also ordered by the court to show up on April 18.

Khan’s attorneys asked to keep his arrest warrant with the ability to post bail because of the threats to his safety during the hearing.

The PTI leader’s attorney stated, “Imran Khan has security worries, his life is in danger, and the Islamabad High Court has also issued orders withdrawing protection from him.”

The court then said that because the prosecution had not yet made an appearance, it was time to hear from them.

Eventually, the judge postponed the case’s hearing until 11am.

During the intermission, the prosecutor Raja Rizwan Abbasi appeared in front of Civil Judge Malik Aman and argued against Imran Khan’s request for a waiver of his appearance today.

Khan is not present, according to the prosecutor, so the warrant should be modified to be non-bailable.

“Not even he signed the plea.”

Following the conclusion of both sides’ arguments on the plea, the court reserved its decision, which was eventually made public.

The accusations in this case stem from a speech Khan gave last year in which he is accused of making threats against law enforcement and a female judge in response to one of his close associates, Shahbaz Gill, being denied bail in a sedition case.

Since being ousted in a vote of no confidence in April of last year by a united opposition led by his replacement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the cricket star turned politician has been subject to a bombardment of legal troubles.

According to the country’s regulations, a politician who has been convicted is likely to be barred from office for at least five years.
