Employees who violate the ban on smoking during flights would be fined Rs. 100,000, according to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
The PIA management took note of a staff member who was seen smoking onboard. Employees who are found smoking on planes will be fined Rs. 100,000 each, it has been decided.
The management of the national flag carrier disclosed in a circular that a recent Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) inspection of one of their aircraft revealed that the cockpit crew had violated the “NO SMOKING ON BOARD” policy.
The airline stated that smoking is prohibited on board at all times.
Any crew member who is found breaking the guidelines could face a fine of up to Rs. 100,000. The other staff members are supposed to report such offences, according to previous circulars.
According to the circular, crew members who fail to notify a violation would be treated as offenders and subject to the same fine. The airline insisted that the staff members strictly adhere to the instruction.
