Ahsan Iqbal, the federal minister for planning, development, and special initiatives, has proposed a nationwide internship programme for recent graduates. To those that qualify, the initiative will offer 60,000 paid internships.
He added that 100,000 university students will receive laptops to aid in the development of their digital skills, and that the federal government is offering scholarships to applicants accepted to the top 25 universities in the world.
He mentioned that 1 million computers were given to young people during the PML-previous N’s administration in order to foster a culture of freelancing in the nation.
20,000 scholarships for unemployed graduates were also offered last month by the planning minister during an international summit on higher education and workforce development in Islamabad.
In accordance with the recently introduced Youth Development Initiatives (YDI) by Prime Minister (PM), Shehbaz Sharif, such scholarships will be accessible to students in rural locations.
