A highly contagious Coronavirus subvariant, BF-7, has been detected in Karachi by the Sindh Health Department. There is a new sub-variant of the Omicron variant that has been identified for the first time in Pakistan, which was first identified in China.

The Sindh Corona Taskforce member Dr. Faisal Mahmood confirmed the detection of the new variant and stressed the importance of wearing masks and avoiding public gatherings.
