NHA Board permits AEDB to begin the bidding process for solarizing its structures

AEDB has been granted permission by NHA Executive Board to hold competitive bidding on the Authority’s behalf for the solarization of its structures

According to official records, the Member (Admn) informed the Board about the solarization of NHA buildings while stating that the federal government had just recently approved the framework guidelines for solarizing public buildings in order to advance and expand the nation’s renewable energy resources.

The Prime Minister has ordered that a centralised procurement process be used for the solarization of all public sector buildings, according to a letter from the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB), Ministry of Energy (Power Division), dated December 27, 2022. This is in order to expedite the solarization of government buildings.

For the purpose of the procurement agencies, the AEDB has been tasked with managing the competitive bidding process. But the contracting organisation will work with the chosen bidders to make arrangements.

For the installation of rooftop net-metering-based solar PV systems at the designated NHA buildings, AEDB must develop an appropriate strategy and conduct/manage the competitive bidding process in accordance with Rule-11 of the PPRA, 2004 on behalf of NHA. This must be done using its own funds.

For the solarization of NHA’s buildings, the AEDB has been necessary to grant permission for the conduct of competitive bidding. The NHA Executive Board gave AEDB permission to submit a bid for the solarization of NHA’s facilities in a competitive process using NHA’s own funds. However, the winning bidder and NHA will enter into a contract.
