Killing Four Militants And Martyred A Soldier In The Bannu Operation

A soldier was martyred in battle and four terrorists were shot dead during an altercation in Bannu

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Saturday that a soldier was martyred  in battle and four terrorists were shot dead during an altercation in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the military’s media wing, the event happened as security personnel were conducting an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bannu’s approximate vicinity of Jani Khel.

While the operation was in progress, there was a frenzied firefight between the soldiers and the terrorists, however the ISPR said that the forces successfully engaged the terrorists’ position.

The ISPR claims that as a result, not only were four terrorists killed during the operation, but militants’ weapons and ammunition were also found.

The military’s media wing claimed that the terrorists who were slain “remain actively engaged in terrorist activities against security forces and murdering of innocent persons.”

But during the shooting, Sepoy Muhammad Wasim, a 25-year-old Khairpur native, fought valiantly and chose martyrdom.

Following the incident, the security personnel are sanitising the area to get rid of any further terrorists they find there, the ISPR added.

The IBO occurs just days after Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants attacked a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Bannu, overwhelming security forces.

Nearly three days after the takeover, the complex was cleared, but four soldiers were sacrificed in the process, and 25 terrorists were also murdered there.

With the most recent wave of terror attacks occurring in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan has been experiencing a new wave of terrorism for the past several weeks.

In response, the Pakistani Army’s top brass decided on Wednesday to eradicate terrorism “without any difference” as the nation fights a new wave of insurgency that has claimed many lives and left many others injured.
