Canva Launches AI-Powered Tools and Brand Hub to Empower Users to Create Visually Appealing Content

Canva has announced a series of exciting new features, including an array of AI-powered tools and a Brand Hub, during its virtual event called Canva Create. These tools are designed to help teams and organizations of all sizes create visually appealing content at scale.

Canva’s co-founder and CEO, Melanie Perkins, shared that the company’s vision was to enable anyone to design anything, regardless of their skills or experience, when it launched ten years ago. Perkins expressed excitement for the introduction of new features aimed at helping brands increase their creative outputs and for Canva’s role in simplifying the design process through innovative technology. She believes that Canva can help users bring their ideas to life more quickly and efficiently than ever before.

Canva has an impressive customer base, including big names such as Starbucks Corp., Zoom Video Communications Inc., and FedEx Corp. With the new and improved tools, this customer base will now have access to many new features to help them easily create social media graphics, presentations, video content, and documents.

Canva has gained over 35 million monthly users since launching the Visual Worksuite in September 2022, bringing its total monthly user base to over 120 million since its launch in 2012. To date, Canva has also been used to create over 15 billion designs.

Here is a list of currently introduced features in Canva.

Canva introduced a new feature called “Assistant.” The Assistant feature assists users in quickly searching for design elements and accessing features while offering design recommendations that match their existing design. This makes it effortless for users to create visually appealing designs. Additionally, the Assistant provides speedy access to Canva’s AI-powered design tools, including Magic Write, an AI-powered copywriting assistant launched in December.

With Assistant, users can quickly streamline their design process and create stunning content. Canva users can now access Magic Write in all types of projects, including presentations, social media graphics, and flyers. Previously, the tool was only available in Canva Docs.

With Magic Write, one can write website copy and presentation summaries. Canva offers various tools to help users create stunning designs with ease. Its Assistant feature provides design recommendations and quick access to AI tools like Magic Write.

Additionally, Canva now supports Magic Write in 18 languages. Users can also generate presentations automatically by using Canva’s new feature. Moreover, the platform’s “Magic Design” tool enables users to upload images and choose styles to receive personalized templates that can be further customized. Similarly, the “Magic Edit” feature allows users to add or replace anything in an image by describing where the addition should be made. With the “Magic Eraser” feature, users can easily remove unwanted details from images by simply brushing over the area.

Brand Hub

Canva included Brand Hub to help teams stay on brand. With the new “Magic Replace” tool, users can quickly update brand assets, such as logos across designs on the platform. Brand templates, folders, and guidelines are also available within the hub, and admins can approve workflows directly in Canva to ensure designs are reviewed and approved before they’re published. Canva’s latest feature, “Magic Replace,” enables users to quickly update their brand assets like logos across their designs. The platform also includes brand templates, folders, and guidelines accessible within the hub. Admins can approve workflows within Canva to ensure that designs are reviewed and approved before publishing.

To make designs more accessible, Canva now supports Alt Text. This feature enables users to add descriptions to images and elements, providing additional context for individuals with visual impairments or accessibility requirements. Canva added 953 new fonts, including Arial, Courier, Helvetica, and Times New Roman.

Canva is introducing new tools based on user requests, including “Draw.” This feature lets users easily sketch a basic shape, such as a circle, and transform it into a professional-looking shape. The new “Layouts” feature offers recommendations for layout ideas when users add content to a page. Canva’s “Styles” feature offers suggested color palettes and fonts for users to browse. The new “Layers” tool allows users to view all design elements, including text, shapes, images, and video, in one place. Canva also introduces “Beat Sync,” which matches video footage to a chosen soundtrack. Additionally, the platform is launching a “Translate” feature that automatically translates text in designs into more than 100 languages. These new tools are designed to meet the needs of Canva’s users, making it easier than ever to create polished designs with ease.

The race for AI has now entered in a new phase. With each passing day, tech giants are introducing AI tools to overcome competitors. Yesterday, Adobe introduced Firefly, and today Canva brought updates to its product. This race became interesting after the unveiling of ChatGPT. Let’s see what will be next tomorrow.
