After Removing Some Parts, The Censor Board Permits The Oscar-Nominated Movie Joyland To Be Released

Following a review on the Prime Minister’s instructions, the Pakistani censor board gave the internationally acclaimed and multiple award-winning film Joyland the all-clear.

After removing several scenes, the full board approved the local showing of Joyland. The movie was originally scheduled to open for business in Pakistan on November 18.

After several schools of thought opposed to the film, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif established a cabinet committee to investigate the situation.

The Pakistani-produced movie has garnered awards all around the world, including the Cannes Jury Prize. It is also the nation’s Oscar submission for the following year.The censors have finally permitted the film, which depicts a romance between a married man and a transgender woman, to be seen.

Joyland had its world premiere at the American Film Institute Festival and the Toronto Film Festival, as well as winning other international accolades before it became embroiled in controversy.
