A passenger bus that was travelling on the Lahore–Islamabad highway when it overturned near Kallar Kahar resulted in at least 14 fatalities and more than 60 injuries.
The speeding coach was returning to Lahore from the capital when it veered to the opposite side of the road after a tyre exploded, local police informed the media. A truck on the opposing track, two additional vehicles, and the unfortunate bus were all struck.
According to reports, among the fatalities are women and kids who attended the wedding. Law enforcement officers and rescue workers arrived on the scene quickly, moving the injured and deceased to nearby hospitals in the twin cities.
In the middle of the night, a rescue effort was started to free people from the mangled cars. Further fatalities were expected, according to officials, since several injured people were said to be in severe condition.
Premier Shehbaz Sharif expresses sorrow over the fatal bus accident
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also expressed his sorrow over the catastrophe and offered his condolences to the families of the victims. The premier expressed his great sadness over the disaster in a statement.
He commanded that the injured be given the greatest medical care possible and prayed for the families’ tolerance and the injured’s quick recovery.
