To Provide Free Online Education, the PM has Launched “Teleschool Pakistan”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the need to utilize all available resources to modernize the education system in Pakistan.

He spoke at the launch event for the initiative “Teleschool Pakistan App, Google for Education and Digital Continuous Professional Development,” which aims to transform formal education in the nation.

The Ministry of Federal Education created the mobile app Teleschool Pakistan to offer free online instruction to students in all grade levels.

The prime minister noted that the country’s teacher preparation programmes fell short of expectations and urged the federal education minister to collaborate with provincial governments to make improvements.

The prime minister emphasised the value of utilising cutting-edge technology in the classroom and providing students with laptops and other gadgets so they can access contemporary learning methods.

He declared that 100,000 laptops would be given to students who excel academically and emphasised the importance of emphasising vocational training in partnership with the private sector. Instead of spending money on physical structures, he advised investing in students’ technical and skill training.

The establishment of a network of Danish schools in Balochistan was also announced by the prime minister as a way to bring high-quality education to students living in the province’s outlying regions.

He expressed certainty that doing this would help these students catch up to peers from other parts of the nation. He also emphasised the importance of attending to orphaned children’s educational needs.

Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training, emphasised the connection between the quality of education and teacher preparation.

He continued by saying that the Covid-19 pandemic had given rise to a chance to use distance learning techniques. Six channels were being introduced as part of the initiative to serve the 22.8 million out-of-school children in the nation.

Waseem Ajmal, the Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training, gave a summary of the project and mentioned that digital content would be produced and made accessible through various channels.

He also mentioned that 150 Chromebooks were being given out to students and that a total of six digital channels were being launched for various age groups.

This programme will make quality education accessible to students in rural areas of the nation, and its emphasis on vocational education will help those students get ready for the workforce.

Students will have access to contemporary learning methods thanks to the distribution of laptops and other devices, and the funding of technical and skill training will contribute to the development of a skilled labour force.
