According to media sources, the electricity grid’s frequency increased to 50.75 hertz (hz) early on Monday, causing the blackout.
Grid operators work to maintain the grid’s frequency at 50 Hz, with deviations greater than 0.05 Hz normally being regarded as abnormal. The memo states that the grid was already operating at 50.30 Hz just moments before the incident.
It tripped due to the transmission wires’ extreme frequency changes.
On January 24, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued an inquiry order to ascertain the causes of the recent nationwide power outage.
In 15 hours, the electricity was restored. The federal minister believed that the blackout was caused by foreign agents.
On behalf of my government, I would like to express my sincere regrets for the inconvenience our citizens suffered due to power outage yesterday. On my orders an inquiry is underway to determine reasons of the power failure. Responsibility will be fixed.

Federal Power Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan had already stated that the administration was worried about the national grid’s repeated outages and will look into whether outside forces had “hacked” the system.
