The Ministry of Planning will release 20% of the funds for the development budget in the first quarter

For the current fiscal year 2022–2023, the federal government changed the way that money are released for development projects, reducing payouts for the first two quarters from 45 percent to 30 percent.

The Ministry of Planning will release 20% of the funds for the development budget in the first quarter, 25% in the second, 30% in the third, and 20% in the fourth, in accordance with the prior release strategy of the Finance Division for the developmental budget 2022–23.

According to the new release plan, 10 percent of each approved demand for grant and appropriation will be issued during the first quarter and 20 percent will be released during the second quarter.

Additionally, it has been agreed that 40% of the approved demand for grants and appropriations will be issued in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year, and 30% of the approved demand will be granted in the third quarter.

Since the Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Division received the Development Budget, all parties involved have been asked to contact this division with any questions regarding authorisation as well as the allocation of monies among the approved projects and schemes.
