Details state that the PAC has mandated that the FIA complete the inquiry by February 23. The parliamentary committee has also given the agency instructions to present the investigation’s results to the PAC, AGPR, and the Ministry.
The FIA is now looking into 25 incidents involving the Ministry. These incidents happened in 2017, 2018, and 2019. These incidents involve errors made when contracts were given to companies to buy different kinds of commodities.
The Ministry received grade-C supplies from the contractors despite the fact that the contracts were given to the highest bidders, who were supposed to furnish grade-A goods.
In this regard, the PAC, a legislative panel in charge of monitoring public spending, had also called FIA representatives last month.
The Islamabad Zone Director of the FIA was asked to provide an update on the cases. The detectives who were looking into these cases were also with the director.
