Mickey Arthur, a seasoned coach, is rumoured to have accepted the Pakistan Cricket Board’s offer to lead the national squad (PCB).

According to the information, the specialist coach was contacted a few days ago by the recently appointed PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi, and he accepted the offer.

The country’s cricket governing body will be managed by a management committee made up of 14 people, as PM Shehbaz Sharif approved last week.

Sethi made significant moves the day after taking office, including disbanding all committees established while Ramiz Raja served as PCB Chairman.

Media reports state that the previous head coach will join the squad prior to the commencement of the ninth Pakistan Super League season (PSL).

It is important to note that Arthur led the national team from 2016 to 2019, and he had a number of successes, including winning the Champions Trophy in 2017.

In a media interview on Saturday, Sethi stated that although local cricketers won’t be on the coaching staff, they will manage other board concerns.

Najam Sethi affirmed, “We were global number one in both ODI and Test cricket, and we also won the Champions Trophy.

The PCB president said that the decision will eradicate nepotism while outlining the rationale for hiring foreign coaches.
