UAE Announces Significant Updates to Entry and Visa Requirements

In the United Arab Emirates, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) has updated a number of entry permits and visas as part of its smart services system

A number of entry permits and visas have been updated by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) of the United Arab Emirates as part of its smart services system.

About 15 services and procedures have been modified. A person’s residence visa won’t be extended if they spend more than six months outside of the United Arab Emirates, according to one of the revisions.

For registered GCC nationals who don’t have an Emirates ID, the ICA has added more alternatives for cancelling and altering visa information. Additionally, the modifications include services to extend the pre-entry validity of visas as well as the visit visas of friends or family members for journeys lasting 30, 60, or 90 days.

When applying for a new passport, renewing an existing one, or replacing one, those with disabilities are exempt from providing their fingerprints. The issuing of group family visas for travel, medical care, and patient companions has been made available, with choices for single and multiple entries for stays of 60 and 180 days.
