“Hybrid Reborn” – New 5th Gen Toyota Prius Revealed

Wait is over – On November 16th, however, Toyota Japan released some images with the message “HYBRID REBORN.”

In December 1997, Toyota’s Prius was released in Japan as the first mass-market hybrid. Prius has been the best-selling hybrid model worldwide since then, and it would be fair to declare it the pioneer of hybrids. Interestingly, Toyota engineers were unable to move the first Prius prototype for 49 days when it was built; today, millions of Prius are in use.

Prius’ current generation is the 4th generation, or XW50, which arrived in 2014 and was face lifted in 2020. On and off, we’ve heard news about the next 5th-generation Prius. Recently, a camouflaged prototype of the upcoming Prius was spotted in Japan. On November 16th, however, Toyota Japan released some images with the message “HYBRID REBORN.”

As you can see, this car has a sleek aerodynamic roofline, and an image of the headlamps shows a C-shaped design similar to that found on Toyota’s new Crown model. The side profile is instantly recognisable as a Prius, and it has a sleek aerodynamic body profile.

As Toyota is still committed to a non-plug-in version, it has recently launched a new 192 hp 2.0 litre version of its 2023 Toyota Corolla for the European market.
