This Ramadan, Salman Butt Brings Thrilling Cricket Action To Lahore

A highly anticipated Ramadan event in Lahore will include Pakistan’s top cricketers, including national team captain Babar Azam.

The best cricketers from Pakistan, including Babar Azam, the captain of the team, will take part in a much-anticipated Ramadan event in Lahore.

Besides with Azam, other famous cricketers taking part in the event are Shadab Khan, Ihsanullah, Usama Mir, Azam Khan, Usman Qadir, Umar Akmal, Ahsan Ali, and Abid Ali.

There will be eight teams in the private cricket institute-organized competition. Two international players will reinforce each team. Salman Butt, a former Pakistani captain, is in charge of organising the competition.

At a press conference on Friday in Lahore, Butt declared that “such a competition is taking place in Lahore for the first time.”

Also, this tournament will discover new potential, the former Pakistan opener continued.

The organisers will provide the player of the match in each game Rs30,000.

In due order, the tournament’s schedule will be made public.

A three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Afghanistan is presently underway in Sharjah.

Babar, who was rested for the series, is not leading the team; Shadab is.

It should be remembered that Azam received the third-highest civilian honour in the nation, the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, on Thursday in Lahore.

At the age of 28, Babar became the youngest recipient of the Sitara-e-Imtiaz award for his great accomplishments in the sport of cricket.

Azam won the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of 2022 earlier this year. Azam also had the honour of leading the ICC ODI Team of the Year. He also won the ICC ODI Player of the Year title in the meantime.

Pakistan’s T20 International matches against Afghanistan are their first since finishing second in the T20 World Cup in Australia the previous year.

On the eve of the series opening, Shadab discussed the difficulty of facing Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan-captained team with PCB Digital.

“I attempt to play an attacking and aggressive style of cricket. Being a captain in modern cricket requires you to be courageous. The athletes from Afghanistan have extensive experience competing in international leagues. We will witness a contested series with our dynamic young side since they are a strong squad in these circumstances, said Shadab.

“The uncapped players in our squad have earned their call-ups due to their reliable domestic cricket performances and noteworthy HBL Pakistan Super League performances. Also, older players who are in good shape are rejoining the club, which is encouraging for the team, he continued.
