On Thursday, the first winter rain fell in several Punjabi cities, including the province capital Lahore, which resulted in a drop in temperature.

Today’s temperature, which was 13 degrees Celsius before the light showers, will drop to 8 degrees at midnight.

A westerly wave that hit Balochistan earlier this week and is likely to engulf the upper and central regions of the country was predicted by the Met Office earlier this week. Showers will be provided for Lahore, Sahiwal, Vehari, Lodhran, Jhang, Pakpattan, Fort Abbas, Gojra, Arifwala, Alipur, and Kabirwala.

Light to moderate downpour is predicted in Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Ziarat, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Harani, Qillah Saifullah, Qillah Abdullah, Chaman, Pishin, Gwadar, Jiwani, Turbat, Panjgur, Kalat, Khuzdar, Sibbi, Naseerabad, and Lasbella through December 29 due to the influence of the new weather system.

Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Sargodha, Islamabad, and Murree are all likely to have rain mixed with snowfall.

Despite the drizzle, Lahore’s air quality index remained unhealthy.
