Shahid Afridi Tenure End As Chief Selector

Shahid Afridi’s tenure as a chief selector comes to an end

Shahid was selected as an interim chief selector of the Pakistan Cricket Team last month and his tenure has come to end after New Zealand ODI and Test series. He replaced Mr. Wasim, as he was scaled by the new chairman of PCB.

As the series ended, Afridi ended his tenure with a gratitude note shared on his Twitter. He said

“Thanks to the PCB for entrusting me with the chief selector’s role for #PakvNZ series. Thoroughly enjoyed the responsibility. Hope I lived up to the expectations of the fans with brave/bold decisions. Will always be available to help 🇵🇰 🏏 in any way I can.”

Najam Sathi wants to keep him as a chief selector for the team till the upcoming world cup, 2023. This world cup is going to be held in India. He refused politely due to his busy schedule.

He was praised a lot for changes. He brought back to the ex. Captain Sarfraz Ahmad, after four years. He performed exceptionally well in the test series. Haris Sohail also has come back in his tenure and spoke with his bat.
