Shaheen, Rauf Selected By Welsh Fire; Babar, Rizwan Unsold At The Hundred Draft

The Hundred draft on Thursday failed to sell Pakistan captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, and Muhammad Rizwan, the wicketkeeper batsman, were not selected in Thursday’s The Hundred draft.

There were no takers for Babar Azam, who entered the draft with a reserve price of £100,000. For this year’s draft, the Hundred organizing committee ran a fan vote on Wednesday to find out which cricketer is most well-liked by the huge community of cricket enthusiasts. After receiving 25% of the audience’s votes, Babar topped the charts. Babar failed to find a buyer for yet another year since The Hundred franchisees didn’t share the same opinion.

Babar was passed over in the draft last year as well since the event conflicted with Pakistan’s diplomatic responsibilities. Babar was offered for sale with a £125,000 reserve.

Welsh Fire, on the other side, selected Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf in the March 23 The Hundred draft. Rauf entered the draft with a reserve price of £60,000 whereas the left-arm pacer had a reserve price of £100,000 for the same position.

Ihsanullah, a pacer for Multan Sultans, has been chosen by Oval Invincibles for £40,000.

Shadab Khan, a Pakistani all-rounder, was signed by Birmingham Phoenix for £100,000 last month. Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, and Liam Livingstone are just a few of the international cricketers Shadab will be playing with for Phoenix.

In August, the tournament will start. The men’s competition was won by Trent Rockets last year after they defeated Manchester Originals in the championship game.
