According to reliable sources, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia has extended an invitation to PM Shehbaz Sharif and PM Nawaz Sharif of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who are seen as being closest to the royal family, to conduct Umrah in the country.
The three-time former prime minister, who has been living in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019 due to health reasons, will go on a private plane to Saudi Arabia on April 11 with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and other family members.
Nawaz Sharif will visit the Saudi Arabian monarchy as a royal guest. The sources further stated that he would spend the final ten days of the holy month of Ramadan at Medina and Makkah.
Sharif’s visit to the kingdom has not yet received a formal schedule, though.
It is important to note that a number of ministers and lawmakers have created arrangements to undertake Hajj during this time.
