Ranbir Kapoor Quits Rom-Coms

The reason Ranbir Kapoor stopped acting in “rom-com genre” movies.

Actor, producer and director Ranbir Kapoor is of Indian descent. He is regarded as one of the most bankable actors in the Indian film industry and one of the most successful actors in the history of Indian cinema. He has won many honours and recognitions, including five Filmfare Awards. With the romantic comedy Saawariya, in which he made his acting debut, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He has since acted in several popular movies, including Wake Up Sid, Rockstar, Barfi!, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Sanju, for which he won a Filmfare Award for Best Actor. The 2015 box office success Bombay Velvet was also produced and directed by him. Ranbir Kapoor is frequently referred to as the “King of Romance” due to his outstanding work in the genre.

Ranbir Kapoor explained why he stopped choosing rom-com roles while promoting the upcoming Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.

Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, a romantic comedy starring Deepika Padukone, was his last romantic comedy appearance. He never again chose to play such roles after that.

He claims that rom-com movies are a dying genre and that no one prefers to watch them these days because moviegoers prefer to see big-budget productions.

“I believe there were several factors at play. It might have been aware. Additionally, I was given the option of watching other movies. My films have a bad habit of taking a very long time. Both Barfi and Rockstar took a while to complete.

Additionally, I thought the rom-com that was being produced or made available to me wasn’t all that exciting. They weren’t presenting anything novel. I had mentally retired from this genre somewhere. I figured maybe the rom-com genre is dying out because people now prefer expensive experiences over watching rom-com.

After a long time, Tu Jhooth Main Makkaar was the only romantic comedy he decided to participate in. The actor from Barfi discussed the factors that ultimately persuaded him to act in the movie.

He explained that Rom-com requires a lot of variables to be taken into account. You need many components for a rom-com to work, and I get the impression that everything came together somewhere along the line.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, directed by Luv Ranjan, is scheduled to hit theatres on March 8, according to Pinkvilla.
