PSL 2023: Shoaib Malik Failed To Cash In On His Form This Season, Says Misbah

Misbahul Haq, a former Pakistan captain, thinks Shoaib Malik has had a bad Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.

Shoaib Malik hasn’t put on a strong performance in the current league cricket competition this season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), according to former Pakistan captain Misbahul Haq.

In a recent interview with a local news programme, Misbah discussed Shoaib Malik’s performance at PSL 2023 and said that the prolific cricketer has been playing well recently.

Malik has done well over the past 1.5 years, he said, whether it is in franchise cricket or his most recent appearance for Pakistan.

Misbah commented, “I am astonished to see that he [Malik] has not capitalised on his form this PSL season.

He claimed that although Malik hadn’t done much in PSL 8, it was a truth that the ageless cricketer had begun playing in accordance with modern-day cricket and had the capacity to accelerate with a strike-rate of 140-150.

“I believe he has continued to be unlucky because, as you can see, he got off to a good start with two fifties. Nonetheless, Karachi required runs at a run rate of over 10 anytime he entered the game. I believe that’s why he was constantly under pressure “explained Misbah.

In nine games this season, Malik, 40, has only amassed 200 runs, including two hundreds. When Kings needed Malik to provide game-winning efforts on two separate occasions, he fell short.

When asked about Malik’s retirement, Misbah responded that it was his choice.

“One must be one’s own judge. Whether he chooses to play or hang his boots is up to him. He appears to be in shape and dedicated to his sport. He is free to play franchise cricket if he feels that way “Finally, he said.
