The Quetta Gladiators were able to exhale on Tuesday after scans revealed that their captain Sarfaraz Ahmed had not sustained any serious injuries as a result of Naseem Shah’s ferocious bowling.
When the Gladiators played the Karachi Kings in a Pakistan Super League match, Sarfaraz was keeping wickets and was struck on his ring finger.
After leaving the field and taking painkillers, the wicketkeeper-batter came back to the bat.
After the game, the Quetta captain was transported to the hospital for additional scans, and according to the management, there is no risk of a fracture.
Sarfaraz is still experiencing pain, and swelling symptoms are also there, according to the team management.
Doctors will keep an eye on his health, and a decision regarding his participation in the following game will be made following an evaluation the following morning, a team official told a news reporter.
Quetta Gladiators defeated Karachi Kings by four wickets in yesterday’s game at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, despite losing their skipper to injury.
By winning the decisive game for the Gladiators by himself, Martin Guptill demonstrated that he posed a genuine threat to the Kings.
Guptill once again demonstrated his supremacy and guided Gladiators to a four-wicket victory, following his first PSL century against Kings in their last match this season.
