The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) supports discussions with the opposition to address the country’s ongoing political and economic turmoil, whereas the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) oppose the idea. Consequently, the ruling coalition seems divided on this matter.
During a meeting on Friday, the PPP’s core committee decided to engage with all coalition partners, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to explore the possibility of political dialogue.

The committee was co-led by former president Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The PPP’s top decision-making body met to discuss the current political crisis, highlighting several contributing factors, such as the prioritization of minority court rulings over majority court decisions.
During the meeting, PPP Secretary-General Nayyer Bukhari argued that this stance was legally, morally, and politically unsustainable and required reevaluation.
The gathering also emphasized the importance of promptly and respectfully resolving cases with conflicting judicial judgments.
The party reiterated its opposition to delaying the Constitutional mandate date for fair and free elections and called for simultaneous general elections for all legislatures, as stipulated in the Constitution.
Notably, PML-N and JUI-F, the two largest political parties in the government coalition, have refused to engage in talks with the PTI.
Asad Mahmood, the JUI-F leader, demanded the application of Article 6 to Imran Khan in a statement released on Friday.
Additionally, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has repeatedly dismissed the idea of conversing with the PTI.
