Pervez Musharraf’s funeral prayers to be held in Karachi tomorrow

Gen. (Ret.) Parvez Musharraf’s funeral prayers will take place in Karachi, a southern port city

A special jet will transport his body back to his country of origin today (Monday), one day after the 79-year-old passed away from a protracted illness. From Al Maktoum Airport, the aircraft will travel to Nur Khan Airbase for its landing.

His family had previously requested that his remains be returned to Pakistan, and the Pakistan Consulate General in Dubai had granted their request.

The former President passed away early on Sunday in the UAE, where he had spent the last six years.

According to reports, Tuesday at 1:45 pm, funeral prayers will be conducted at the Polo Grounds Malir Cantt. A grave is currently being prepared for the former military leader’s body in the Fauji cemetery. Rangers have been given responsibility for the graveyard’s security because it is anticipated that prominent figures will attend the final rites.

Recall that Musharraf’s mother was buried in Dubai and that his father is also buried in Karachi.
