LAHORE: The allied parties’ leaders will meet at the PM’s mansion in Model Town to discuss how to handle the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and legal issues, according to Reports.
The postponement in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly elections is being heard by the top court amid controversy over the suo motu notice.
The PTI contested the ECP’s March 22 order to postpone elections in the two provinces. After two justices recused themselves after a Supreme Court ruling suspending all hearings under Article 184, a five-member bench hearing the petition was dissolved twice (3).
After two judges recused, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Judge Ijazul Ahsan, and Justice Munib Akhtar are hearing the PTI plea.
After former prime minister Nawaz Sharif rejected the bench, the court denied the government’s bid to form a full court on Friday.
The ruling alliance is anxiously awaiting the joint investigative team’s (JIT) report, which has initially uncovered shocking facts regarding the persons sheltering in Imran Khan’s Zaman Park mansion, according to The News.
“They are not reliable people,” the sources stated of the PTI and Imran.
Imran is reportedly meeting with ruling alliance leaders behind the scenes. Today’s alliance leadership meeting will explore Imran’s impatience for discussion and its motivations.
Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarrar will update the meeting on the Supreme Court’s legal struggle over Punjab and KP provincial assembly elections and a suo motu.
Before leaving for Lahore, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan met with PM Shehbaz. He went for Lahore and would counsel throughout the meeting.
The sources indicated the administration would boycott the Supreme Court’s three-member bench sessions after judges recused themselves.
The ruling alliance leaders would also consider knocking on the Supreme Judicial Council’s door on some subjects.
The group would plan a political response to the PTI and Imran’s impending protests.
According to sources, PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif would participate from London.
