Pakistan cricket team will play a T20 matches series against Afghanistan in Sharjah at the end of March 2023. It was 3 ODI matches against Australia, but Australia pulled out of the series by raising the issue of Women’s rights in Afghanistan.
After pulling out of the series, Afghanistan Cricket Board contacted Pakistan Cricket Board PCB and asked for a series to replace Australia. PCB agreed to play the series, but T20 instead of ODI. Yesterday, Najam Sethi said,
“Pleased to announce PCB will play 3xT20s against Afghanistan in Sharjah end March to compensate Afghanistan following Australia’s pullout from bi lateral series against it.”
He added more,
“I also supported ACC decision to grant Afghanistan equal share of ACC revenues like BCCI, PCB, SLC & BCB.”
Afghanistan Board asked for the ODI series, but PCB agreed to play T20 because both teams have a safe spot in the World cup. Therefore, PCB said that there is no attraction to playing ODI.
In head-to-head competition, Pakistan is leading 3-0 in T20.
