Mickey Arthur’s Return As Head Coach Is A Priority for PCB?

Are we going to see again the Mickey Arthur as Head Coach of Pakistan Cricket Team!

As the announcement says, yes, Mickey Arthur will be appointed as the Head Coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team. He is considering this offer and needs some time for his final decision. This all began because the contract of Mr. Saqlain Mushtaq as Head and Mr. Shaun Tait as the Bowling coach ended on the 9th of February, 2023.

Arthur is currently on a three-year coaching contract with the English county Derbyshire and will finalize his decision after discussing it with the club officials. Earlier in this contract, he coached Pakistan’s national team between 2016 to 2019, and the team also won the Champions Trophy under his supervision.

The newly appointed PCB Chairman decided to bring him back as his previous experience with the team was tremendous. In the last few series, the green shirts didn’t perform at their best and lost so many test series, especially with England at the home ground, affecting their standings in the World Test Championship.

We know that Babar is continuously experiencing new players as the main pacers need to be in better shape and facing injuries. This led the team to lose the matches or end up with a very close win, which is very alarming.

Sethi’s vision is clear to revive First-Class Cricket, for which he restored the 2014’s PCB constitution, and Arthur’s appointment is one of his decision for the team that led to the betterment of cricket in Pakistan.
