Karachi Customs Intelligence Seizes Non-custom Paid Automobiles Worth 25 Million Rupees

Four tampered or non-custom paid (NCP) automobiles with an approximate worth of Rs. 25 million have been seized by Customs Intelligence Karachi.

Additionally, smuggled betel nuts and other items were recovered by Customs Intelligence’s anti-smuggling unit.

Surveillance was set up in the Northern Bypass region after specific intelligence that a group engaged in organised betel nut smuggling would try to transport a dumper load to Karachi. This resulted to the dumper’s being intercepted.

The Customs Intelligence team overcame smuggler resistance to capture the dumper. Under the smashed stones, there were several smuggled betel nuts that were discovered and collected. The approximate worth of the seized products and vehicle is Rs 26 million.

In both situations, the department made an arrest, and additional investigation is still being conducted.
