Islamabad declares a holiday for academic institutions and workplaces

Due to the visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the federal capital, Islamabad’s district administration has declared January 30 to be a public holiday.

However, normal business operations would continue at the Municipal Corporation of Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), and hospitals.

On January 25, Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates. When Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived at Rahim Yar Khan’s Chandna Airport, PM Shehbaz welcomed him.

Both leaders talked about how to improve the friendly bilateral ties between their two nations. Also mentioning his earlier trip to the UAE, PM Shehbaz stressed the significance of carrying out the commitments he made there.

Along with them, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Special Assistant to the PM (SAPM), Syed Tariq Fatemi, attended the meeting.
