India Today’s Sana will be a full-time job from the next week. She will read the news in multiple languages. Moreover, she will bring interesting discussion topics and engage the audience in the news channel.

During India Today Conclave 2023, Kalli Purie, the Vice Chairperson of India Today Group, unveiled an AI bot named Sana. Purie said,

“Sana is a tireless, ageless, bright, and gorgeous robot that can communicate in multiple languages and is entirely under his control.”

The introduction of AI anchor Sana may appear to be a setback for human anchors with years of experience in the media. However, Kalli Purie that Sana will not diminish the value of real-life anchors as they will be mentoring her. Purie expressed optimism that Sana will soon have a human surrogate editor and company.

He views the future integration of AI and humans as both fascinating and frightening. Purie acknowledged the constant criticism media receives and expressed concern over pressure from political parties, business houses, foreign governments, and high-profile professionals. Despite this, he maintained that India Today has never compromised on the stories it tells.

Although Purie assurance, it is a rethinking situation for the whole human race that these robots and AI products can remove humans from their roles. It is estimated that about 300 million jobs will be laid off soon due to evidence of Artificial Intelligence. It may cause a big impact on human life.

To keep in mind this scenario, on Tuesday, about 1,100 signatories signs on an open letter to all AI companies to stop training their artificial intelligence models for the next months. It is also said that there should be some regulations and ethics about AI technologies to remain fruitful for humans. Otherwise, it might be possible that they will overcome most the humans around the globe. This might cause some disaster in the future.

Numerous well-known personalities are included in the signatories, i.e., Elon Musk(CEO of Tesla and Twitter), Yuval Noah Harari (Israeli historian), and several engineers from Google and Meta. The interesting aspect of the latter is that no one is part of the signatories from OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT 4.
