Here Are The Price Increases For Toyota, Honda, And Suzuki For 2022.

The year 2022 was a dismal one for Pakistan’s auto industry.

The year 2022 was a dismal one for Pakistan’s auto industry. The economic crisis has caused car costs to soar to incredible heights, making them unaffordable for a large percentage of consumers.

Despite having a high level of localised manufacture in Pakistan, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC), Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC), and Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL) have hiked the prices of their vehicles by significant amounts.

Here are the differences between their previous and new prices from January to December 2022.

The new administration substantially altered the policies earlier this year to halt imports into the car sector. These alterations included:

Imports of CBU vehicles are subject to 100% regulatory duties (RDs).
The State Bank of Pakistan approved a letter of credit (LC) for a small amount of CKD imports (SBP).
SBP limitations on auto finance.
These actions, along with a few others, have significantly reduced car sales compared to the previous year. Additionally, the inability of the LCs to be approved has made it difficult for the auto industry to import assembly kits, forcing them to observe non-production days (NPDs).
