By Receiving Nine Nominations, Beyonce Breaks Previous Grammy Records

Beyonce, the reigning pop star, is dominating the Grammy nominations with her nine nominations.

On Tuesday, November 15, Beyonce is leading the field of musicians nominated for Grammy Awards, followed by Kendrick Lamar with eight nominations, Adele with seven, and Brandi Carlile with seven.

Beyonce has dominated the annual Grammy nominations for six years running. She now has 88 nominations overall, which ties her with her husband Jay-Z for the most nominations in Grammy history.

In addition to Adele’s album 30, Harry Styles’ album Harry’s House, Lizzo’s album Special, and entries from ABBA, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, and Coldplay, Renaissance is up for album of the year.

The album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers by rapper Kendrick Lamar is also up for album of the year.

Adele said that Beyonce’s Lemonade should have received the 2017 Grammy honour.

Despite having 28 Grammy victories, the Formation singer has never taken home the trophy for best album.

For the uninitiated, Georg Solti holds the record for the most Grammy awards won altogether with 31.
