The phenomenal bowling abilities of Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi have been praised by England batsman Alex Hales, who dubbed him the “greatest new-ball bowler.”
With a delivery that removed Hales from the game and increased Pakistan’s chances of winning the match, Shaheen garnered attention during the 2022 T20 World Cup final.
Hales, who will soon play with Afridi for the Notts in the 2023 Vitality Blast, lauded the Pakistani bowler for his flawless technique and said that after being bowled out by Afridi in the championship match, he had no doubts about the bowler’s caliber.
Shaheen is one of the finest new-ball bowlers in the world, in my opinion, because to the late swing he generates from a six-foot-seven frame, according to Hales.
“That was a beautiful ball from him early on, and as a result, I spent a lot of time watching our chase in the locker rooms. It was a really anxious and prolonged hour and a half!
Had Shaheen not had the misfortune to sustain an injury, the situation may have been much tighter.
He was inconsolable when he was hurt; we could hear him yelling and groaning in the locker room.
“To win the global title was as amazing as it gets,” the player said. “It was a great game of cricket.”
Afridi will take part in the Blast in 2023, joining a pace-bowling assault that includes Jake Ball and Olly Stone and has international experience.
The Outlaws have added bowling reinforcements as well as Colin Munro, a cricket player from New Zealand, for the next season.
Hales and the Outlaws are confident in their prospects as anticipation for the next season grows, with Afridi and Munro leading the assault.
Hales praised Munro’s signing, calling it “simply an incredible signing.”
“He’s a fantastic player, and I’ve had the good fortune to play a lot of cricket with him over the past 12 to 18 months.
He can adjust to any situation, whether it’s a challenging deck or a flat pitch, and he’ll be a great character addition to the dressing room.
We feel as though we have something to show this year since falling out on the quarterfinals the previous year was a very painful pill to take.
